Les éléments à retenir : New communication of the European Commission on CSR The communication will summarize the context and what the commission hears by "a modern understanding of CSR": - CSR must be integrated into business operations and strategy - CSR must be based on respect for legislation and collective agreements - CSR has both accountability/responsibility and opportunity dimensions - CSR aims at creating shared value for owners/shareholders and for others stakeholders - CSR must be led by business, and public authorities have a supporting role : encourage discussions, recognizing good practices, articulate minimum expectations and provide guidance and clarity about expectations set policies and regulations to create market incentives and ensure coporate accountability propose a mix of voluntary measures, and when necessary, regulation. The communication will contain an Agenda for action focused on 12 main issues: Recognizing and enhancing the societal impact of business Improving and tracking levels of trust in business Focusing on respect for internationally agreed CSR instruments Shaping the market by promoting responsible consumption Shaping the market by promoting responsible public procurement Shaping the market by promoting responsible investment Improving company disclosure of social and environmental information Implementing the UN Business and Human Rights framework Emphasizing CSR in relations with other countries and regions in the world Further integrating CSR into education and research Emphasizing the importance of national and sub-national CSR policies Coordination and monitoring The publication of the communication is expected before summer holidays (July 2011). |
